Congratulations to Michael “Gator Bait” for June 2016 JOTM Winner!
The picture was taken on the Rusty Nail? trail by Al (Wushaw) during an early May week long trip to Moab this year. It was a bucket list trip for me that I?ll never repeat! That was my mantra of the week. I have a severe case of Acrophobia. Pretty sure all were well aware! Especially along the cliff side obstacles! It was a great time wheeling and enjoying the company of a great group of people.
Congratulations to Scott “81 Renegade” for May 2016 JOTM Winner!
Election run 2016, Barnwell Mountain Recreation; the first trail of the day was Binder Boulevard led by our fearless leader Joe (Bushwacker) and his lovely and talented navigator Sonia (Bushwackersgirl). The picture was taken by Sonia and really captures the definitions of the of the terrain that lets the picture speak for itself. It was a great weekend that my girlfriend Susan (Sparkles) and I really enjoyed spending with great friends.
Congratulations to Bryan “Stickerhead” for April 2016 JOTM Winner!
The picture was taken by my brother, Lee Bob on Sunday Cruise on Feb 19th. We had just mud- bogged thru Whatever and decided to do Sunday Cruise as our last trail of the day. Got half way down the obstacle and sunk! Backed up and tried it three times and the squirrels said “enough!” I ended up backing out of the obstacle. Spent several hours getting “Gilmer” out of that running gear.
Congratulations to “Tall Steve” March 2016 JOTM Winner!
This picture was taken in Hot springs during the fall run a couple of years ago. I was trying to get close to the tree to clear the rocks and when I gassed the Blue Mule it climbed the tree. It scared me and Sharon but did not effect my son Jake that was in the back seat. Everyone yelled STOP so they could take pics but I had to back down a foot to make myself feel more comfortable before pictures were taken. Shortly after this picture was taken on the same trail I got the Blue Mule on three wheels and almost flopped again, it was a scary morning of wheeling for us for sure but fun. The picture was taken by LSJC club member Skip Hill…Thanks Skip!
Congratulations to Jeff “TREX” February 2016 JOTM Winner!
This photo was taken at Bridgeport early last year. The Jeep is a 2003 TJ with 2″ suspension lift and 1″ body lift. It has 33″ tires. I want to thank every one that voted.
Congratulations to Al “Wushaw” January 2016 JOTM Winner!
This pic was taken in Clayton on the Jim Parker Memorial Run at Green Acres on Green Mamba extension, Cal was spotting and did a fantastic job. I made this obstacle on the first attempt.
It was a great run, Clayton is very challenging and a lot of fun.
I want to thank everyone for the votes!
Chris, blue TJ for taking the pic.
Congratulations to Skip Hill and Rick “Hardtimes” for 2015 JOTY winners!
Congratulations to Lane “63Willys” for December 2015 JOTM Winner!
This picture was taken while on a camping trip to Arbuckle Offroad Park with Shawn Tinkam aka Shawn, Steve Jones aka chyznachoslayer and Dean Cline aka Dac Dac. We were up on top of the big rock outcropping watching a group of side by side and quad drivers rescue one of their own that had rolled down into the trees while trying to climb another part of the rock (they initially refused our help). Dean and I decided to give a shot at climbing up to the top over the big crack in the rock. My initial line wasn’t quite right which brought the passenger tire off the ground but Dean straightened me out. Steve and Shawn were at the top cheering and filming as it happened. It was a very fun weekend of camping and wheeling with our sons.
Congratulations to Bob “Offcamber” for November 2015 JOTM Winner!
The photo was taken the on our last day in Ouray this year after attending the Jeep Jamboree there. Friday and Saturday we did the Ouray Jamboree with the guys from Screaming Lizard Customs and had a great time. I think our favorite part of the trip was Sunday when we decided to take the Last Dollar Road from Ridgeway to Telluride and that photo was taken at an overlook off of the Last Dollar Road. We drove the 35 miles through the back country and into Telluride, picked up some food and then had a picnic at another of the overlooks. We drove about half the trip back after sunset and it was a great experience. There are very few other vehicles on the road so you feel like you are a million miles away from civilization. It’s mostly ranch country so there are lots of cattle, horses and of course the local wildlife. We saw tons of deer, elk and even a bear on the drive back. My jeep is a 2012 Rubicon with 3.5″ of lift, 35″ Nitto tires, Fox 2.0 shocks, synergy suspension steering components, Rampage front bumper, AEV rear bumper and Baja Designs Stealth lightbar which was awesome for driving the backroads at night!
Congratulations to Larry “CJ8Larry” for October 2015 JOTM Winner!
This picture was taken back in May during the club run to Hot Springs ORV park. The trail / obstacle was Bailey’s Boulders. The second half of Bailey’s boulders has always given me fits in the past but this time someone (I think it was Redneck Ron?) suggested a different line to hug the left side. I tried it and the old Scrambler just walked right up it. I think the new Krawlers helped a little too. It was one of my more proud Jeep moments.
The Jeep is a 1981 CJ-8 Scrambler running a Ford FI 302 / C6 auto / Dana 300 with 4:1. Out back is a ford 9″ with a Detroit locker and 4:88 gears. The front is a Dana 44 with a new Grizzly locker, 4:88s and Yukon Chromoly shafts. Tires are 37″ BFG blue label Krawlers on 17″ Allied beadlocks.
Thank you for the votes. CJ’s Rule!
