Had my new drive shafts from Tom Wood's (http://www.4xshaft.com/) installed today on my 2012 Rubi - Josh over at Baertrax took great care of me!...

Had my new drive shafts from Tom Wood's installed today on my 2012 Rubi - Josh over at Baertrax took great care of me!
Since I lifted my 2dr 2012 I needed new shafts for clearance and strength reasons. With the new shafts
I gained massive clearance between the front shaft and X over pipe and I didn't have to install ANY exhaust spacers and I got rid of the sealed boots. (the OEM sealed boots on the shafts would have self-destructed the first time off road
with my 3.5" lift) I did a 1310 in the front and 1350 in the rear.

Yummy tasty goodness - new shafts front and rear:

OEM front shaft and X over pipe for the front shaft - very tight and no way can I do full drop on suspension.

Here is the new clearance with the new front 1310 shaft between the X over pipe:
(might have to remove that heat shield - don't think I need that any more since no more rubber boot right there.)

Another view of the front shaft (looking forward):

Detail front shaft:

Rear OEM shaft:

New rear shaft big and beefy:

Like to get this on some RTI ramps and double check everything....

OK guys! I have a 1996 XJ that I need to sell for parts. I'm asking $600. It has about 200k. The 4.0 apparently blew a head gasket and filled the oil with water. My son drove it several days like that, and now it sounds horrible, and smokes a lot. It will crank and move, but is not driveable.
The good: it has a Rigid front bumper with hoop, and receiver. Rigidco.com ($450 new). Zone offroad 3" lift with AAL. (about 3 years old, shocks may be shot). Chrysler 8.25 rear, and Dana HP30 with 3.55 gears. NP 231, and AX4. Tcase and transmission are fine. No problems with axles. Rear was replaced from a wrecking yard last summer. Old housing is included, but pinion bearing and seal are out.
In the past year, I have replaced the starter, hard transmission lines, distributor, CPS. The radiator is fairly new also. I has 2 31x10.50 Goodyear Authority tires that are very good. (about a year old) The other 3 are bald. All power windows work, all doors close well. (the back handles are hard to push) It has been wheeled a lot, but not very extreme. The brakes are fairly new, (drums and rotors were replaced, along with pads and shoes) Recent water pump. Torque converter replaced about 2 years ago. Absolutely no rust of any kind. All glass is good, tinted windows. The dash is in good shape. Cruise works. All lights work. Factory trailer hitch in the rear. header panel is good, and aftermarket grill is OK.

The bad: most of the body is dented and or dinged somewhere. Except the hood, and drivers door. Back hatch is cracked, but another one in good condition is included. The headliner is gone, the seats are dirty, but no holes or tears. The carpet is filthy. It has the stock alloy wheels which have been rattle canned black. The original black paint was peeling, and most of the body has been rattle canned as well. Hood latch cable is broken. Original sway bar and skid plate are off, but included. Steering gear box is worn out. (pops and crunches when turning) A/C doesn't cool. (I think the compressor is bad, but it does turn on) No radio. The tail lights and front marker lenses have been blacked out, and won't pass inspection. The motor difinately needs rebuilding or replacing, don't expect it to be driveable.

I'm trying to get pics on here, but I have some on my phone. I can send them. If you're interested call 903 245-3262, or text for pics. I'm in Tyler, and the Jeep will need to be towed or trailered. If I don't answer, leave a message, and I'll get back to you.

We attended the get together last night at Fuzzy's Tacos and had a blast meeting everyone. My wife, Autumn, is also registered here as user CoonAzz. My wife's Jeep is an Orange Crush 2012 JK Unlimited Sport, with a 6 speed manual. Its mainly stock except for upgraded to the 17 inch JK aluminum wheels, a 1 inch front spacer and Rubicon Rock Sliders. We have a ton of plans for additional parts and we hope to attend more of the meetings in the future.

I am looking to get some advice on spacers vs axle narrowing. After five and a half months, I finally got my Jeep YJ frame back from this "superb" shop in Dallas with Dana 60's under it. Problem is, what I GOT is not what I told them I WANTED. Seeing as it cost me over $12,000, I expected a lot better product. The axles I supplied were of different width and the front was SUPPOSED to be narrowed to either match or closely match the rear. The front is six and a half inches wider than the rear and now I am left with either using spacers, forking over MORE money (obviously to a DIFFERENT shop), or running it as is. Input on the issue would be greatly appreciated. I could also use some input on a decent fab and/or drivetrain shop.

It's got 4:10 gears and a np231 transfer case. It was wrapped with camp clad this past fall. That was a $1000 alone. Truck runs and drives great with no known rust or problems. Mileage is unknown. I have repaired the speedometer so it works properly now. It is licensed and inspected. Floorboards are sprayed with a bed liner material. Any other questions just call thanks. I live between Tyler and Longview if you would like to see the truck. I20 exit 579. I've got $3200 on Craigslist asking price. I could probably take $3000. I've got a lot more than that in it though. 903 987 2337 Chris.
